Cancer
Cancer is the result of damage to the DNA. Normally, cells multiply, mature and differentiate into a particular normal
tissue that contributes to the survival of the organism. The DNA is the blueprint that contains all of the information required to
reconstruct each cell. The DNA tells the cell what to do. When the DNA is damaged, cells multiply indiscriminately and do not differentiate
and acquire a useful function. Cancer cells continue multiplying, invading normal tissues and consuming nutrients, disregarding the survival
of other organs and the whole organism. In addition, they generate substances that inhibit appetite, induce inflammation and fever, and affect the
normal balance of the organs.
Conventional treatment for cancer involves surgery to remove tumors and administration of drugs that kill cancer cells (chemotherapy).
Holistic treatment seeks to address all of the possible aspects of cancer: i) boosting of the body’s anti cancer mechanisms with homeopathic
medicines; ii) elimination of environmental substances that can promote the development of cancer (chemical free diets, detoxification of home environment);
iii) neutralization of free radicals that cause cell damage and promote cancer (antioxidant therapy, detox therapy); iv) balancing of organs to maintain homeostasis
(acupuncture, diet, nutraceuticals); and v) direct action on cancer cells (chemotherapy), or surgery.
