News

Welcome to the news section of the Richardson Animal Hospital Site, please come back to this section for news and updates!

Remember, you will need current rabies vaccines when taking an animal out of the country and almost all boarding kennels will require that dogs have a current bordetella vaccination before they can be admitted. These precautions protect not only your pet, but all the others he or she will come into contact with.

Do you think your home may be a little brighter with a new kitten or even an adult cat as company? We often have kittens and cats for adoption. They are feline leukemia tested as well as screened for FIV and have at least the first vaccine. Usually adult cats are also spayed or neutered. There is a rigorous adoption screening and a small fee which allows us to continue to take in and provide for strays and unwanted litters. Sometimes you may even find a dog looking for a new home. For further information call and talk to one of the staff.

If you are traveling to the US with your pet here are a couple of things to remember: You must have a current rabies vaccination and the border agents do not believe in a three year protocol, get it within the current year. You will require a veterinary health certificate issued within 10 days prior to crossing the border. Be aware of these simple to follow rules and you can save yourself a lot of grief at the border.
