Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Intern
Registered Veterinary Technicians:
MarieClaude Theriault, RVT, BSc
Already possessing a B.Sc. in Biology, Marie-Claude graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2006.
Coming to us from Northern New Brunswick, Marie-Claude brings with her the advantage of being fluent in both her native French and in English. She enjoys working
in the laboratory, especially with cytology, and she appreciates the opportunity to learn something new every day. Fascinated by the beauty and complexity of life,
M.C. appreciates the opportunity to dabble in several aspects of biology, as well as the opportunity to apply it with
the real goal of improving the health and quality of life for companion animals. Her genuine concern and love for animals makes
her the ideal person to be caring for your pet. Marie-Claude also has two young cats to share her off-duty hours.
Jennifer O'Driscoll, RVT, BSc
Jennifer started at the Cobequid Animal Hospital the week after completing the Veterinary Technician Program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, in 2008.
She was already possessed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the same institute. Since she was in grade two, it was clear to Jennifer that she would have a job
caring for animals, and she has steered her career in this direction ever since. Jennifer is very much a people person and greatly enjoys interacting with clients and
their pets. She believes there is no better feeling than that provided by a wagging tail or contented purr. When not at work, Jennifer’s life is controlled by her two cats.
Kaylyn Stuckey, RVT, BSc
Kaylyn is a 2008 graduate of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Veterinary Technician program. Before entering the program she had obtained a B.Sc. in Biology from
the University of P.E.I. Kaylyn is active in the Eastern Veterinary Technician Association (EVTA) which protects the rights and enforces the ethical obligations of RVTs
in the Maritimes. Not being satisfied with the ordinary, Kaylyn has developed a special interest in exotics and reptiles, and has become a certified retile specialist. She has
also studied rabbit nutrition, among other interesting topics, and believes that prevention of illness, such as dental cleanings, will prolong the life of animals.
Kaylyn finds it hard to think of a household without an animal, or really even a household with just one animal.
Around the office Kaylyn is known for her infectious smile and contagious laugh.
Veterinary Assistant:
Danielle Burgess
Danielle coordinates the placement of strays into new and loving homes through the Cobequid Animal Hospital Adoption Program,
a registered non-profit organization called the Safe and Sound Animal Shelter Society
(also on Facebook).
Danielle graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at the Maritime Business College in 2009 and started with us that summer as a part-time employee,
while preparing
to enter the Veterinary Technician course at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. She is currently undertaking that program while at the same time working
full-time with
us. Danielle considers animals as family, and she enjoys helping animals to
become as healthy and active as possible. While
completing her education, Danielle lives at home with several dogs and cats.
